Dear Business Owner,
My name is Jim Zumpone. I am a business owner, and founder of The Zipper Junction Project™, both located in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I am inviting you to participate in a fact finding mission, the goal of which is to identify and improve understanding of challenges businesses are currently facing.
The only criteria is that the business you own or operate is located, or serves customers, within a fifty mile radius of Lake Wallenpaupack in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The business type does not matter; it can be a small family business, a private entity with partners, or even a public company.
This short term project was borne from my involvement with an initiative called Wayne Tomorrow!, which was created as a broad, county-sponsored, community-based collaboration focused on the projects, resources, and infrastructure needed to move Wayne County, PA, its people, culture, and economy into a vibrant future.
The nonprofit organization I founded, The Zipper Junction Project™, is an extremely forward thinking idea (and a future physical location) that connects experiences and opportunities to spark passions, build futures, and simultaneously foster economic development – individually, community-wide, and regionally beyond NEPA.
Our businesses may or may not depend on local support, but when they do, that support usually extends past the immediate area from where they are located. A business in Wayne County may service Pike or Sullivan counties as well, and vice versa. This creates a challenge for local authorities to effectively support local business due to municipal boundaries.
In the spirit of the collaboration that exists within these two organizations, we are reaching out to local businesses to identify challenges, which will be used to help craft and initiate solutions. We will fold this information into the initiatives of The Zipper Junction Project™, as well as carry it back to the larger group at Wayne Tomorrow! for further review.
As a member of the business community, we would be honored to have you participate in the project. We are beginning with a simple, brief survey that will gather starting points upon which we will build. Please take a few minutes to answer the survey questions.
